She's so young, she has a lust for life

But she's slowly been ground down

To young to vote but old enough to know

She's got to get out of this God forsaken town

She's made big plans with a boy from out of town

They'll come to fruition when the sun goes down

She'll leave a goodbye note for her mum and dad to find

She can't stop now she's got to leave this town behind

A car pulls up in the street outside

A few more minutes and she'll be by his side

He'll put his foot down, right down to the floor

Like horses boltin' through an open door

She went through school, she got all her grades

Just like a good girl should

Mum and Dad you know are oh so proud of her

But she just feels so unhappy and misunderstood

They've got her life planed. It's all mapped out

But she don't recognise the girl they're talkin' about

She runs out the house, throws her stuff in the car

And plants a kiss right on his face

Jumps in the front seat and slams the door closed

Sez “Come on boy just get me out of this place”

The car screams away in a cloud of smoke and dust

They're not running coz they want too, they're running coz they must!

And they'll drive all night with the radio on neith a great big smugglers moon.
